…and all through the hotel room, not a creature was stirring, but me.
It may not be the most creative opening to a short story, but it’s all I’ve got at the moment. Travel was super easy, recovering from my deleted presentation was not.
Upon arrival at the Mirage, I beelined to the conference venue and secured my conference credentials. I spotted @britz and @egeeking, both working and busy. I chatted briefly with @joshcav who interrupted his brief lunch to say hello.
Then I ran in to @stipton, and we had a great but brief chance to catch up.
Ultimately, though, my afternoon task was to recreate my presentation from the PDF version I had after deleting and erasing the only copy in existence.
I took shortcuts. I did what I had to do, but the presentation is good to go and ready to rock. It’s not about the presentation, of course. I know it’s about me and what I do and say, how I make people feel, and hopefully what I leave them to remember when they get back to the workplace. All that is ready.
I’m not. I normally continue activity late into the evenings during conferences, but tonight I’m heading for what I hope is a good night’s sleep.
See you all in the morning.
Thanks for reading!
